About the ​opportunity

Due to an internal promotion, we are excited to be looking for our new Health Research and Evaluation Officer. This is a rare opportunity to join our newly restructured Health Strategy and Performance team, make a real difference in public health and shape the future of healthcare delivery.

What you would be doing

This role will provide expert research and evaluation services to monitor and assess our activities, prepare strategic reports and ensure all work meets high standards to support informed decision-making and effective health care planning.

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Project and Administrative Support: Provide support for research and evaluation projects, making sure there is compliance with contractual and organisational standards
  • Quantitative Data Management: Collect, manage, analyse, and synthesize quantitative data on health performance and status indicators to produce high-quality reports
  • Qualitative Data Collection: Conduct in-depth interviews, facilitate focus groups, and manage qualitative data according to established protocols
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Work with management and external stakeholders to conduct surveys, specifying data collection and analysis methodologies
  • Literature Reviews and Documentation: Perform literature reviews, prepare written materials, and contribute to health research ethics applications

Here's what you’ll look like

While having a relevant qualification and experience in public health, health research, epidemiology or similar would be an advantage, these skills will give you a great head start:

  • Evaluation design and ability to use mixed methods, qualitative and quantitative research methodologies to evaluate program performance and outcomes within a complex health context
  • Well developed analytical and research skills including a demonstrated ability to undertake health programs research and evaluation activities
  • Proficiency in using relevant research tools and software to manage and analyse data including the Microsoft Office suite and related level database skills.
