About the Role
This role is situated within the Economics and Analysis branch of Investment NSW, focused on supporting program and policy teams to maximise the impact of their initiatives through effective program design and robust program evaluation.
It ensures all initiatives are evaluation-ready through the development of program logics and monitoring and evaluation plans. The position also involves the collection, analysis, and reporting of quantitative and qualitative data to support process, outcome, and economic evaluations, while delivering clear findings and actionable recommendations for program improvement.
A key responsibility of this role is to collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders. This includes engaging with policy and program teams through workshops to facilitate program design, monitoring, and evaluation processes.
A key challenge in this role is managing competing priorities within tight deadlines. The ability to adapt quickly to new information and conduct in-depth research to assess complex issues is critical for success in this position.

You. Our ideal candidate:
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in economics, commerce, or related social science disciplines.
- Deep understanding of program logics and evaluation principles.
- Ability to design programs that are evaluation-ready from the outset.
- Proficiency in both quantitative and qualitative data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Ability to deliver high-quality, actionable evaluation reports that drive program improvement.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- High attention to detail while delivering results under pressure.
- Flexible and quick to adapt to new information.
- Ability to conduct thorough research to assess complex issues and develop sound solutions.
- Strong project management skills.
