Workshop Overview

This workshop is designed for both commissioners and evaluators to elevate your skills in program evaluation project management. This dynamic session is crafted to equip participants with techniques for seamless evaluation projects, conflict identification and resolution, and the cultivation of positive work environments.

Workshop Content

The workshop will cover:

  1. Techniques for Managing the Evaluation Process: Explore proven project management techniques tailored for program evaluation. From defining project scopes to setting realistic timelines, participants will gain insights into efficient management practices that enhance evaluation effectiveness.

  2.  Conflict Identification and Resolution: Delve into the intricacies of conflict management throughout the evaluation project lifecycle. Understand potential sources of conflict, learn techniques to address conflict during contract negotiation and management, and implement resolution strategies to ensure smooth project progress.

  3.  Disagreement Management and Positive Work Environment: Equip participants with strategies to manage disagreements constructively. Explore methods for fostering a positive work environment that encourages open communication, collaboration, and shared success among team members.

  4. Feedback and Continuous Improvement: Understand the significance of feedback loops in program evaluation. Learn how to incorporate constructive feedback mechanisms into the evaluation process, fostering continuous improvement and ensuring the project aligns with stakeholder expectations.

The workshop is designed to be interactive in nature, using practical examples, structured activities and group discussion throughout.

This workshop is for commissioners and evaluators who would like to:

  • elevate their evaluation program management knowledge and skills

  • cultivate positive commissioner/evaluator relationships

  • enable improved program evaluation outcomes through sound evaluation and relationship management.

  • Domain 1 – Evaluative attitude and professional practice

This workshop is pitched at commissioners and evaluators with a role in planning, overseeing or managing evaluation delivery. It will benefit commissioners and evaluators who are at a foundational to intermediate level.

About the facilitator

Dana Cross a is a public sector expert, possessing over 15 years of deep experience advising government organisations on program evaluation, organisational review, governance, optimisation and performance management. She has designed and executed evaluations for highly complex programs across all policy domains and advised on evaluation policy.
Dana is an Associate Director and member of the Executive Leadership Team at Grosvenor. She is the author of the DIY Program Evaluation Kit and is a member of the AES Awards and Recognition Working Group. Dana is highly regarded by clients for her practical approach which facilitates stakeholder buy-in, provides robust evidence and viable solutions.
