Event Description:

The NSW Government has recently introduced a Performance and Wellbeing Framework "to measure and report on the performance of NSW Government services, and quality of life for the people of New South Wales". Following an overview of the framework, this interactive session will explore:

  • how evaluation could be used to inform government decision making, facilitated through the framework
  •  how evaluations could be used to work out the attribution links between individual programs and shared outcomes
  • how the framework could potentially encourage more evaluations of a package of related programs/initiatives, rather than evaluating individual initiatives in isolation.

The session will be of interest to those who commission and undertake evaluations of government services.

Presenter details:

Xuan Deng is the Director, Performance Budgeting Frameworks, Economic Strategy and Productivity Group, NSW Treasury and currently leads a team that uses economic wellbeing frameworks, data and evidence to improve the living standards of NSW residents, through better government decision making.
