About the role:
VLA is seeking expressions of interest for the role of Senior Evaluation Advisor for a period of up to 6 months as a backfill while one of our team is on long service leave.
You will play a key role as part of a small team in developing the knowledge and capacity necessary to embed effective and rigorous monitoring and evaluation (M&E) activities around Victoria Legal Aid (VLA) programs, services and projects.
You will provide tailored advice and hands-on support to develop and implement M&E processes and integrate evaluative thinking into ongoing work. You will lead program logic/theory of change processes, develop appropriate M&E frameworks and tools, and build the capacity of staff to evaluate VLA’s programs and projects.

You will have a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent professional experience including the M&E of programs and/or projects in the government, not for profit, and/or legal sectors. You will demonstrate strong leadership skills with the ability to build the capacity of staff across the organisation in the use of M&E approaches.
To be successful in this role you will have a passion for evaluation, strong analytical and problem- solving skills with the ability to analyse, synthesise and promote the use of data. You will have high level interpersonal skills including the ability to provide clear, informed and timely advice to internal stakeholders at all levels.
