Our Watch is a national leader in the primary prevention of violence against women and their children. Our vision is an Australia where women and their children live free from all forms of violence. About the role

Working as one of three Managers within the Government Relations, Policy and Evidence Directorate, this role is responsible for managing Our Watch’s evidence and impact functions, leading a team of Senior Advisors and Advisors.

This important leadership role will be responsible for:

  • Leading Our Watch’s contributions to national primary prevention monitoring, including under the National Plan to End Violence against Women and Children 2022-2032
  • Promoting and building understanding of key Our Watch frameworks, including Counting on change to drive evidence-based public policy discourse and decision-making
  • Engaging governments, policy makers, researchers, and others to coordinate and create shared approaches to monitoring and evaluating collective and coordinated primary prevention contribution and impact across Australia
  • Leading Our Watch’s strategic approach to, and use of, evidence to prevent violence against women, including implementing Our Watch’s Evidence and Impact Strategy.
  • Working collaboratively with the CEO, Director Government Relations, Policy and Evidence and others to develop, monitor and report against Our Watch’s Strategic Plan.
  • Leading the development of organisational frameworks and tools to measure and communicate Our Watch’s organisational contribution, impact, and outcomes

The Manager supports the Director Government Relations, Policy, and Evidence to ensure we are a leading national evidence-based organisation, support coordination and knowledge sharing and influence effective policy and decision-making.

About you

You will be an experienced strategic thinker with expertise in strategy, research, and evaluation and/or monitoring. In addition, you will have significant experience in managing teams, developing, and maintaining key stakeholder relationships, and managing multiple overlapping projects, deliverables, and budgets. Key to the success of this role will be the ability to develop strong, collaborative relationships with other Managers and teams within the GRPE Directorate and across Our Watch. You will also be expected to play an effective leadership role within Our Watch, including as part of the organisation’s Leadership Group.
