About the role

The role undertakes research and analysis to support the delivery of evaluation projects for major Government and departmental initiatives. Analysis is likely to include quantitative analysis of outcome data and survey data, as well as qualitative analysis of stakeholder interviews and group discussions. This role includes evaluations of priority initiatives that seek to improve outcomes for Aboriginal students, by working collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure evaluations provide valuable evidence at critical time points, and that evaluation findings are used.

Key knowledge and experience

  • Honours degree or higher in social research, education with an emphasis on measurement, psychology or a related field, or relevant professional experience in evaluation. 
  • Demonstrated experience with qualitative research methods, organising qualitative data collections, and qualitative analysis/reporting. 
  • Demonstrated experience using statistical software packages (e.g., SPSS, Stata, R) is preferred but not essential.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

  • You have strong analytical skills, good communication skills and are customer service oriented in your approach.
  • You have an interest and may have experience working in culturally responsive ways with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities.
