The Research and Evaluation Advisor is a 0.8 to Full Time (negotiable) fixed term contract role based at our Sandringham and Frankston sites.

As part of Family Life’s broader Impact and Strategy Team the research and evaluation Advisor:

  • Leads the evaluation of both internal and external programs and services
  • Ensures programs have clear implementation and evaluation strategies, monitoring implementation and undertaking process and outcome evaluation
  • Conducts research involving community consultation and co-design
  • Develops strategies for knowledge transfer and dissemination with a focus on practice based research
  • Supervises research staff and students as required.

A “typical” week could include:

  • Conducting Theory of Change/ Program Logic workshops to support program development, including evaluation strategies;
  • Attending program implementation meetings, supporting program staff with evaluation activities and sharing current data in relation to program participation and outcomes;
  • Working on reports to present outcome data, highlighting the performance and impact of our programs;
  • Supporting submissions and tender writing;
  • Collaborating with colleagues on a range of issues including diversity and inclusion, knowledge dissemination and digital transformation;
  • Engaging with external stakeholders to support evaluation of their programs.  

Ou ideal candidate

You will have experience working at a senior level in a research and evaluation role, preferably with some familiarity with the child and family services sector. You are confident in communicating and collaborating with a range of internal and external stakeholders across all levels, supporting the implementation of programs and services. Working both independently and as part of a team you will utilise your expertise in mixed methods research and evaluation to demonstrate and disseminate the impact of programs and services for vulnerable children and families.
